Finance Technician

This is a long-term, temporary hybrid role for a Finance Technician based in central Lincoln. Initially, the first two weeks will be office-based, followed by a requirement to be in the office one day per week. Experience in Adult Social Care, particularly in calculating client financial assessments, would be beneficial for this local authority position.

Duties include: Financial Services offers a wide range of services, including financial accounting, business partnering, working capital, and client financial management. The role involves being part of a team at the forefront of Financial Services, handling communications from internal and external customers. The aim is to resolve tasks promptly and professionally, and direct inquiries as needed. The role also involves gathering business intelligence to understand customer needs and suggesting efficient ways to meet those needs. Monthly team meetings are a part of the role, where you will contribute to the agenda and provide updates on your areas of responsibility. You will also offer ideas for the training program to address training needs or knowledge gaps. The position requires providing high-quality financial support and advice in a specific service area, which may include processing journals, budget changes, recharges, and assisting adult social care clients with financial inquiries. Additionally, you will provide financial information to support the annual accounts closure process, including processing accruals and contributing to the financial statements. You will also assist with statutory returns, perform reconciliations between spreadsheets and systems for high-risk budget areas, process batch payments to partners and clients, and support the gathering of information to complete financial tasks.
